Examination Registration:

For Admissions Prior to July 2011 Batch:

The students pertaining to any batch prior to July 2011 will need to download and fill the Manual registration form, provided along with the Examination notification for each cycle. The completed application forms should then be emailed to exam@upes.ac.in before the last date of the registration as notified.

(*The exam registration process is a method to receive the request from the student to appear for particular paper/s in any examination cycle. However this doesnot guarantee the student a seat in the Examination. The final confirmation for appearing in theexamination is generated in the form of a Hall ticket, which is sent to the students postfinancial verification.)

For Admissions of July 2011 Batch and onwards:

The students pertaining to any batch from July 2011 and beyond, need to fill up the registration form on the UPES-CCE Student Portal. The URL for the Portal is as follows:


The registration needs to be completed and submitted prior to the last date of the registration as notified.

(*The exam registration process is a method to receive the request from the student to appear for particular paper/s in any examination cycle. However this does not guarantee the student a seat in the Examination. The final confirmation for appearing in the examination is generated in the form of an E-Hall ticket and which must be downloaded by the students from the CCE-UPES student portal post financial verification.)

* CCE does not send any exam notification emails to students. The students are advised to regularly visit the CCE website for reviewing all the latest information being updated on the website.

Hall Tickets:

The Hall Ticket is the final intimation of the approval of the University to the student allowing him/her, to appear for the final Term End examination in any particular examination cycle. The student is only allowed to appear for the subjects indicated in the Hall Ticket generated.

Examination Environment:

Currently all Term End Examinations for all Programs run by CCE are held in the Proctored Online mode. This allows the students a flexibility to appear for the examinations from anywhere in the World. During these examinations all students take the Online examinations in an environment which is under surveillance.


  • These Examinations will be conducted as per the schedule published along with the Examination notifications, published on the CCE Website (www.cce.upes.ac.in).
  • The students will get the Term end examination Invitation link on the E-mail IDs registered during on line examination registration/manual registration.
  • The students need to carry the University ID Card / any Valid ID proof issued by the Government, as an identity proof during the examination.

System Software/Hardware/Network Requirements for Examinations:

The students can appear for the examinations using any Laptop/Desktop with the following Requirements:

  1. loaded with the latest versions of the Microsoft Windows Operating System,
  2. loaded with the latest versions of the Browser/s and updated Java Plugin on these browsers.
  3. fitted with a working Webcam, and
  4. connected to a stable Internet connection.

* NOTE: All the above requirements are mandatory pre-requisites to appear for the Online Examinations. It is incumbent on the student to ensure that the above requirements are met when attempting the Online examination.

The responsibility of ensuring uninterrupted power supply, internet connectivity, systems settings including web cam functioning lies solely with the student and the University will not be held accountable for any of the lapse or failed/missed attempt on account of above mentioned requirements. In such situations, the student has to notify the University and seek an approval to appear for the same examination in the subsequent examination cycle.

In order to ensure that all the students, have their systems properly configured, with all the software/hardware requirements, and also are accustomed with the format of the Question paper, it is mandatory that, every registered student of CCE takes the Practice test, as per their relevant program type, as indicated in the Exam notifications.   After successfully completing the practice test, the students are requested to confirm the same on email to their Program Coordinator.

Dos and Don’ts


  1. The students have to authenticate themselves with the SAP ID and the same email ID provided to the University during the Examination registration process.
  2. The students must keep a Valid Photo ID (The University ID Card / A Valid Photo ID proof issued by the Government) handy during the examination for verification.
  3. The students must take the test on Laptops/Computers meeting the System requirements mentioned above.
  4. The students are advised to take these examinations outside any corporate firewall, since the same might stop the video feed from your computer, and thus forcing the University to not recognize the examination. * In case this is not possible, and there is no other option for the student to take it outside the corporate firewall. The section System requirements (For candidates taking the test from their Office network) should be referred to.


  1. The students are not allowed to leave the seat during the time of your examination, without prior approval of the proctor.
  2. The students are not allowed to take any phone calls during the examination.
  3. The students are not allowed to flip out of the test window, during the examination.
  4. The students are not allowed to connect any extended screen/projector along with the system, being used for examination.
  5. No one should be sitting/standing near the student during the examination.
    (Any violation of the above will automatically force the University to end the test)

System requirements (For candidates taking the test from their Office network)

The system requirements for a smooth working experience on the TEST platform is mentioned as follows -

To complete the testing of the system requirement using the link above, the following additional steps need to be done, in case you are trying to take the test from a network, which is behind a firewall (e.g. an office network etc.)

Firewall Settings

(To be checked specially by candidates taking the examination from Office under Corporate LAN and Firewall) – Kindly take the help of your corporate IT team for this   Grant necessary firewall permissions to allow all requests from all sub-domains of mettl.com in any of the following manner :

a) If possible allow all access from the network to *.mettl.com 
b) If wildcards are not allowed in the firewall configuration rules, then please allow all access to the following domains

  1. mettl.com
  2. tests.mettl.com
  3. pr.mettl.com
  4. api.mettl.com
  5. static.mettl.com

c) If domain names are not possible to be configured, then please allow all access to the following IP Addresses



1. IP addresses can be changed in future; therefore specifying IP Addresses is less preferable over specifying domain names.

2. Please ensure that the firewall permissions to ports 1987 and 1988 for pr.mettl.com

i.e.  pr.mettl.com:1987 and pr.mettl.com:1988 are granted to make them accessible.


Supported Browser Version

For best performance, please use the following browser versions only:

  1. IE: 8.x and above
  2. Google Chrome: 10.x and above
  3. Mozilla Firefox: 15.x and above (Alternate option)   
  4. Browser Cache Settings  - Do clear browser cache/cookies before the 1st round of candidates start taking the assessment. 
    - For the subsequent rounds of candidates taking the test on the same machines you don’t need to clear the browser cache/cookies.
    - In case any candidate faces any issue in loading of the test or images, please clear the cache again.
    - For most browsers pressing “CTRL+SHIFT+DELETE” and selecting Clear Cache (for Firefox and Chrome) or Clear Temporary Internet Files (for Internet Explorer) clears the browser cache. After doing this press CTRL+F5.
  5. Test Expiry/Power Resume -In case the test window closes in the middle of the test or at the time of submission for any reason, whatsoever, the system waits for at-least 30 minutes before expiring the test & generating the result report for that particular candidate. This allows the candidate to re-login & resume the test from exactly where it stopped within those 30 minutes.
